The Green Company Honored Nationally for Fresco Home Designs

New England Residential Builder Sweeps Industry Award Shows

The Green Company, a nationally acclaimed homebuilder, swept the industry’s 2010-2011 awards season for architectural and design excellence with its new Fresco homes. Comprising four innovative floor plans, Fresco paired townhomes are offered at two neighborhoods at The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts, with two models open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Proving that exciting design with a unique indoor/outdoor living focus can pack a big punch in smaller footprints, the company’s Fresco homes won nine national awards ? including Home of the Year for Fresco One ? at the Best in American Living Awards (BALA) and The Nationals, sponsored by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and the NAHB Sales & Marketing Council.

"Smaller, smarter, greener homes make sense today,” said Daniel Green, president and principal of the Newton, Massachusetts-based homebuilder. "Our Fresco homes wowed the judges and resonate with value-conscious homebuyers unwilling to sacrifice great design for savings.”

"Named Home of the Year, Fresco One lives much grander than its square footage,” said BALA judge Victor Mirontschuk. "We compared it feature-for-feature to its competitor, a 6,000 square foot custom home in California. Fresco included all of the same light filled open spaces, outdoor living areas, and privacy, but did it in just 1,440 square feet ? exactly what the value conscious buyer is looking for.”

The Green Company partnered with California-based Bassenian/Lagoni Architects to create Fresco’s trendsetting designs.

Each 1,400 to 2,300 square foot townhome is built around a private courtyard and offers free-flowing livings areas. Their smaller size and efficient construction make them cost effective to heat and cool.
